Maternal and Child Health
RHT provides low or no-cost care for pregnant women, infants, and children. The mobile medical team has pioneered localized prenatal care for women living in rural areas who would otherwise not have access to this care.

Full Service Clinic
RHT has recently moved to a new full-service clinical site providing low and no-cost primary and urgent care. The site includes modern exam rooms, a small diagnostic lab, and a basic pharmacy. This site will allow RHT to fill a much-needed gap in healthcare in the local community.

Mobile Medical Team
RHT has pioneered a model of localized care that includes medical care that meets patients where they are. Clinicians have motorcycles with basic medical kits, as well as a mobile medical clinic van that includes more in-depth diagnostic and treatment modalities.

The Rural Health Team prioritizes Maternal and Child Healthcare
The Mobile Medical Van is equipped with ultrasound equipment to allow RHT providers to conduct high-quality prenatal care to pregnant women in rural areas. In 2025, RHT provided mobile ultrasound services to 2835 expectant mothers. This allowed the team to catch 643 instances of pregnancy complications that may have otherwise gone undiagnosed. All received prompt referral and management, resulting in healthy mothers and babies.
RHT also creates and distributes specialized “Mama Kits” to new mothers with basic supplies for safety and hygiene in the immediate postpartum period. RHT distributed 384 Mama Kits in 2025.
The Rural Health Team was conceived, formed, and organized by Ugandans, for Ugandans.
The work of the RHT meets a critical need for accessible medical care in rural areas. Anthill Alliance is proud to work closely with RHT to expand access to health care, promote health education, and improve maternal and child health. With its Mobile Medical Vehicle (MMV), providers make regular visits to rural communities that otherwise lack regular access to medical services.
In 2025, the MMV provided primary care services to 2510 rural patients, school health services for 2999 students, and emergency relief services for 63 homes. The RHT also provided mobile ultrasound scans to a total of 3510 patients, and surgical support for 38 individuals with the MMV.
Using this unique model of care, RHT can reach patients who would otherwise lack access to regular preventive care and health management. In 2025, RHT provided care to 10,573 individuals!
